Our patrons come from many walks of life; be it senators, governors, ballplayers, celebrities, attorneys, entrepreneurs, and ordinary people who have one thing in common;
the love of great food!
Founded in 1971, Casa Dante has served up the most flavorful ethnic recipes as originally prepared by our ancestors who came to “Ameriga” for all her opportunities. Introducing their new land to the foods of Southern Italy for which this part of Jersey City has benefited over the years. With the resurgence in the popularity of “ethnic” recipes and traditions, Casa Dante is now entering its next wave of culinary recognition. The ongoing revitalization of Jersey City and Journal Square doesn’t hurt us either! Newly arrived residents from nearby NYC and similar locales have just discovered us! Our longtime loyal customers have known all along what Zagat, Citisearch and AOL have started espousing; The best Italian food is in New Jersey and Casa Dante is right in the heart of all this culinary production!
We have recently renovated the look of our restaurant to accommodate new patrons and new times. But we’ll never compromise our dedication to the history and quality of what we present. If you haven’t been here in a while you may be pleasantly surprised. Last done in 1986, it was time to freshen up the interior without losing the style and charm of this historic legend.
In addition we’ve the introduced weekend entertainment to round out a diners experience. The food remains great and now you can listen to your favorite tunes and artists while enjoying some of the best Italian food in the area!
Our scheduled Wine dinners have proven very successful and our wine list is continually growing as evidenced by a recently obtained Wine Enthusiast Magazine award. We hope to announce a similar award from Wine Spectator!

Casa Dante has been a Jersey City mainstay for years. Although it might have been some time since you visited the restaurant, you're sure to recognize the magnificent stained-glass windows and oak and mahogany walls. What's different is the location of the bar and dining rooms. The decor is light-beige silk and bronze with banquette seating and upholstered chairs. A floating ceiling that resembles puffy white clouds adds to the stunning environment.
